Creative Arts Team

We believe that all students should have regular opportunities to see and engage in the arts. The Creative Arts Team (CAT) residency, which is offered to our partner teachers, is an essential part of our arts programming. Using theater as a medium, CAT promotes social emotional and educational growth. CAT provides theater-in-education programs for students in grades K–12 and an array of graduate classes and professional development workshops for teachers and theater artists interested in working in classroom settings. Community Works Theater Connections

CUNY MGI partners with Community Works to offer two arts performances per year to all of our MGI students. Community Works' Theater Connections brings a dazzling array of affordable performing arts events to students and community groups each year by partnering with major art and cultural venues in neighborhoods around New York City. Through this presenting series, young students (from pre-K through 12th grade) and community groups experience highly-acclaimed music, dance and theater performances by celebrated and emerging artists.
